West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa brought an end to another thrilling weekend of Premier League football when they played out a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns on Monday night.

The West Midlands derby provided plenty of excitement, as Paul Lambert's side came from two goals down to secure a point, after Shane Long had put the hosts two goals ahead inside 11 minutes.

On Saturday, there was another local derby as Everton and Liverpool played out a 3-3 draw at Goodison Park, while in London, east met west as Chelsea eased to a 3-0 victory over West Ham at Upton Park.

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over high-flying Southampton, and Fulham fell to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Swansea.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace picked up a crucial three points following a 1-0 away victory over Hull City, Stoke beat Sunderland 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium, and Newcastle saw past Norwich City with a 2-1 win at St James' Park.

On Sunday, Manchester City hit Tottenham for six without reply at the Etihad Stadium, and Cardiff City twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Manchester United.
