Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side will endeavour to win their final Champions League group game against Napoli next month. Following the Gunners 2-0 win over Marseille at the Emirates Stadium last night, Wenger's men know that a defeat in Italy could still see them qualify for the knockout stages. However, the Frenchman has warned against the potential perils of taking the game lightly.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has defended his players after their shock 1-0 defeat to Basel in the Champions League last night. A late goal from Egyptian winger proved the difference between the two sides, but Mourinho insisted that his team had paid the price for their outstanding efforts against West Ham on Saturday.

Manchester United's players suffered a scare last night after the plane that was carrying them to Germany for their clash with Bayer Leverkusen was forced to abandon its landing at the last second. The aircraft was forced to abort in order to avoid another plane already on the runway but no United players were harmed during the incident.

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has accepted blame for the struggles endured between him and former Citizens boss Roberto Mancini. The two clashed during Mancini's final season at the Etihad Stadium last year, but Nasri has claimed that he wasn't in a good place at the time and found it difficult to accept criticism.

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino has rued his team's first-half display during their defeat to Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena last night. The La Liga champions, who have already qualified for the first knockout phase, were eventually beaten 2-1 and Martino bemoaned the lack of intensity showed by his side before the break.

Real Madrid fans are set to show their support for Ballon d'Or favourite Cristiano Ronaldo during their Champions League tie against Galatasaray tonight. The Portuguese star is set to miss the match with a muscle strain, yet two of the club's supporter's groups will give out 45,000 Ronaldo masks for fans to wear at the Santiago Bernabeu.
