Arsenal are on the brink of the last 16 after a 2-0 win over French side Marseille with two goals from Jack Wilshere.
Arsenal took the lead only after 30 seconds of the match. Arsenal right-back, Bacary Sagna, picked out Jack Wilshere who cut inside into the Marseille box and curled the ball pass the Marseille keeper, Steve Mandanda.
The Gunners could have easily made it 2-0 after a Wilshere pass across the face of goal met the man of the moment, Aaron Ramsey, who's shot was well saved by Mandanda.
Later on the first half Arsenal were awarded a penalty after Ramsey was fouled, however replays show that the Welshman was fouled just outside the box. £42 million signing Mesut Özil took to the spot and Mandanda saved his poor penalty.
Wilshere doubled his tally in the 65th minute after great build up by the Arsenal midfield led to Özil playing the ball across the face of goal and the promising Englishman blasting the ball into the net.
Arsene Wenger's impressive Arsenal squad would have qualified to the last 16 had Napoli got a point against Borussia Dortmund, however a very good Dortmund side demolished Rafa Bentiez's team 3-1.
What this result means for Arsenal is that they must go to Naples and not lose by a margin of three goals in order for the Gunners to advanced to the last 16.
Wilshere was the star of the show in a game that Arsenal controlled throughout, even affording Mesut Özil's first half penalty miss as they continued their impressive Champions League form this season.
