On-loan winger Christian Atsu is happy with how his temporary switch to Vitesse is panning out, but the new Chelsea signing wants to return to Stamford Bridge as quickly as possible.

The Ghanaian international came in under the radar over the summer, as Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho snapped up other higher profile targets like Samuel Eto'o.

Upon signing for Chelsea, he was quickly loaned to Vitesse in the Eredivisie, where he joined fellow Chelsea youngsters Gael Kakuta, Patrick van Aanholt, Cristian Cuevas, Lucas Piazon and Sam Hutchinson.

And he's impressed in Holland, making six appearances for Vitesse, scoring one and providing one assist - and the Dutch club sits top of the table.

The undoubted star of the show so far has been on-loan Chelsea playmaker Lucas Piazon. The Brazilian starlet has scored seven and provided four assists in 12 matches for Vitesse, and he's an early contender for Player of the Season in the division.

But Atsu has taken to life in Holland equally well, and while he admits he's enjoying the first-team football, he can't wait to get back to London to make an impact with Chelsea.

"I'm having a good time at Vitesse but my ambition is to return to Chelsea," Atsu told Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

"And in the summer I want to play again for Ghana at the World Cup."
