Manchester United duo Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans have been named in the UEFA Team of the Week following their midweek performance in the Champions League.
The pair were crucial for the Red Devils as they kept a clean sheet in Germany, as David Moyes’ side enjoyed an emphatic 5-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Antonio Valencia opened the scoring for the visitors, before Emir Spahic put through his own net to double the advantage in the first-half.
Evans then put his name on the scoresheet with a tap-in for Manchester United, before Smalling got in on the act with a goal of his own.
Nani completed the scoring for the rampant Premier League champions, who booked their place in the knockout round with victory.
The Red Devils will win Group A if they avoid a defeat by three-goals or more when they face Shakhtar Donetsk at Old Trafford in the final game of the opening phase.
Manchester United weren’t the only English club represented in the Team of the Week after matchweek five, with Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere also making the cut.
Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa and Arturo Vidal are also in the line-up, and you can see the full XI HERE.
