La Liga champions Barcelona remain keen on Chelsea defender David Luiz - and would be keen to sign the Brazil international if he becomes available in January or next summer, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The 26-year-old, who has only featured in five Premier League matches for the Blues this season, was the subject of a bid from the Catalan giants back in the summer.
However, Barcelona's €35m valuation of the player was considerably lower than that of Chelsea, who demanded €50m for the versatile defensive player, and subsequently no agreement was reached.
Barcelona regard Luiz as the ideal defender for their system, with the talented Brazilian comfortable in possession and capable of bringing the ball out of defence.
The four-time European champions are seeking a long-term replacement for inspirational club captain Carles Puyol, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and turns 36 in April.
The club's 22-year-old defender Marc Bartra has impressed so far this season, but Barcelona would still be expected to move for Luiz if Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho opts to sell in the near future.
