Lionel Messi may have recently celebrated winning the Golden Shoe award, but the Barcelona superstar has been knocked off top spot in FourFourTwo's list of the world's best 100 players.

The 26-year-old has still been sensational during 2013, but a series of injuries over the past six months means he has missed crucial matches, such as both legs of last season's Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
