2. Rangers v Celtic

Comfortably the two most-successful clubs in Scottish football history, the rivalry between Rangers and Celtic - dubbed the 'Old Firm' derby - is one of the most passionate and hate-fuelled in all of sport.

With a difficult past rooted partly in the history of religion and politics, the game represents far, far more than just a simple football fixture.

First played in 1888, there have been 399 matches between the two fierce rivals, with Rangers having won 159 and Celtic 144.

Rangers' well-documented financial trouble, liquidation and subsequent demotion to the lower leagues of Scottish football means that there has not been an Old Firm clash since to savour for a while.
