AS Monaco are reportedly considering a move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci in January.
The Ligue 1 outfit are keen to strengthen their back four, according to Goal.com, and have added the Italian centre-back to their shortlist of January transfer targets.
The Red and Whites are hopeful of adding to their squad as they aim to dethrone Paris Saint Germain to win their first Ligue 1 title in 14 years.
This comes after the club spent over £120million to bring in the likes of Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid and Porto pair James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho during the summer transfer window.
The Stade Louis II outfit have identified their defence as the area which most needs strengthening, despite only conceding 11 goals during 14 league games so far this season.
It is believed that the 26-year-old is also being lined up as the perfect replacement to current captain Eric Abidal, who is set to leave in the summer after joining on a free from Barcelona only a few months back.
The French side feel that the former Bari defender would be the ideal signing to help the club secure their status as one of the biggest powerhouses in Europe.
It is reported that the club sent a scout to watch the defender in action during Juventus' 3-1 home win against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
However, it is yet to seen if the Italian champions would indeed consider to part with one of their biggest assets.
