As January looms ominously on the horizon, transfer speculation ramps up as top, middle and bottom of the Premier League jostle for the most-sought after targets.

But another window opens on January 1st  - the loan window. Just earlier today, Chelsea were linked with a loan swoop for a Real Madrid player - a target also linked with Tottenham and Manchester United.

Before we get to the identity of this mystery Bernabeu star (to be honest, we thoroughly expect you to already know who it is) we'll set out the premise of this article.

Something for nothing - almost - you still have to pay wages after all. So we've picked one potential loan deal for each of the Premier League title contenders.

A deal we think could help tilt the title balance in their favour. Unless of course, they all follow our advice and we'd be back to where we started. Hmm.

Anyway, click through the slideshow to see the list...
