Brooklyn Nets coach fined $50k for drink spill trick

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd will have to pay the NBA $50k for spilling his drink on court, reports the Bleacher Report.

Kidd has been accused of asking Nets star Tyshawn Taylor to bump into him in order for his side to plot an offensive move during the stoppage.

The Nets were down two with just over eight seconds on the clock - with Lakers shooting guard Jodie Meeks at the free-throw line.

Kidd's side were out of timeouts and in need of changing their tact in order to claw back their two-point deficit.

However the 40-year-old's clever ploy did not work and he has not been hit with a $50,000 fine.

The hefty fine will pile more misery on Kidd, whose side are currently languishing third from bottom in the Eastern Conference with four wins from 11 games.
