QPR midfielder Joey Barton has continued his astonishing tirade against Ryan Giggs after the Manchester United man celebrated his 40th birthday yesterday.
Giggs is still going strong after more than 20 years at Old Trafford after making his debut in 1991, playing the full 90 minutes in Manchester United's 5-0 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Welshman was lauded for his longevity on his 40th birthday yesterday, a sentiment echoed by Barton, who took exception to the Manchester United man's actions off the pitch.
Having branded him a "wrong'un" yesterday, the former Manchester City player, who is notorious for airing his controversial opinions on Twitter, responded to questions from his followers about Giggs' standing in the game by insisting he was worse that Chelsea's John Terry - who hit the headlines in 2010 after he had an affair with former team-mate Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend.
He told his 2.3 million followers: "If you all want to put Giggs on a pedestal, then thats your right. I am merely pointing out that what he did was as low as it gets.
"Hundreds of times worse than John Terry. JT has a blast of his mates bird when they had split up.
"Not saying that's right at all but if any of you think having an 8yr affair with your brothers wife. Getting her pregnant and aborting that child (allegedly) is worse than JT's behaviour, you want your heads testing.
"A hero Giggs? Bang your brothers bird. I don't care how good you are, you sir are a c**t!"
Giggs could well become the first player in Manchester United's history to play 1,000 games for the club this season, or more likely if he continues on into the 2014/15 campaign.
He is expected to feature in his side's game against Tottenham on Sunday.
