Bayern Munich star embarrasses himself with celebration fail

Arjen Robben had a productive day indeed on Saturday as the Bayern Munich winger scored both goals in his side's victory against Braunschweig to reinforce their supremacy in the Bundesliga.

Bayern are four points clear of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, and seven ahead of Borussia Dortmund, having won 12 and drawn only two of Pep Guardiola's opening 14 matches in charge at the Allianz Arena.

During Guardiola's brief tenure in Bavaria, Robben has found the net six times in the league - and nine times in all competitions - a tally on a par with his often more heralded teammate Franck Ribery.

The weekend brace may have delighted Robben and ensured three points for his team, but the Netherlands international was left somewhat embarrassed following his opening strike.

It took only two minutes for Robben to score - converting with a header after hitting the post - and the 29-year-old embarked on a somewhat well rehearsed celebratory run and knee-slide.

Things did not quite follow the normal pattern however as Robben, who had clearly forgotten he was sporting leggings, got stuck in the turf and had to endure a faceplant. He also ripped the knees of his under garment. What would his mother say?
