Portuguese sensation William Carvalho impressed the travelling scouts from Manchester United and Arsenal yesterday, by turning in a performance of the highest order during Sporting Lisbon's clash with Pacos Ferreira.
Carvalho, who has attracted the attention of a number of European clubs, scored once during Sporting's 4-0 romp and, according to A Bola, showcased once again why he so highly lauded by his suitors.
The 21-year-old has a release-clause embedded into his current deal worth an astonishing €45million, but is still being tipped to join the likes of United and Arsenal either in January or at the end of the season and both sides have continually send scouts to watch his development over the course of this campaign.
Neither of the English giants would be likely to meet the aforementioned valuation, but the fact that Sporting are experiencing financial dire straights at the moment could play into their hands and perhaps open the possibility of a cut-price deal in the January transfer window.
