San Francisco 49ers star Vernon Davis has expressed his desire for the NFL to ban footballers from bringing down an opponent by grabbing on to their private parts.

Davis was dragged to the floor in the 49ers' match against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

On first viewing it looked like he was brought down fairly, however if you watch replays closely - it soon becomes clear that Rams safety T.J McDonald in fact dragged him down by clinging on to Davis' penis.

The tackle, has since prompted Davis into tweeting: 'It should be a league rule saying that a defender can not tackle a player by his penis. #NFL'
