Christian Wade is said to be out for six months for a foot injury that the winger picked up in Wasps win against London Irish on the weekend, according to The Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old has only played one match this season before picking up his injury, but was sure to feature in the Six Nations next year, as the winger has played 45 games since joining Wasps in 2011, and since then has scored 140 points.
Wasps Director of Rugby, Dai Young, has stated that this is a big loss for his team, and for England.
"Christian was hugely unlucky to miss out on the Autumn tests with England and he had hoped to push on and put in some good performance for Wasps to get him in contention for Six Nations selection."
Wade has only featured for England once in his career, against Barbarians, to which he scored a try; beating two players.
Wasps, meanwhile, haven't had a good season, as Dai Young's side lost their opening three games of the season before beating Worchester Warriors.
As the High Wycombe side have only won four of their last nine games, and Young's team sit seventh in the Premiership table with a game against second place Northampton Saints next.
But the 46-year-old believes that Wade will bounce back for this injury, as he is still young.
"It is a huge blow for him, but he is a young player with a huge future and his time will come around again."
This is not the only injury England have been struck with before the Six Nations tournament, as the likes of Manu Tuilagi, Alex Corbisiero and Ben Foden will all miss the highly anticipated tournament.
