Arsenal will find out if they still have a chance of signing Barcelona target Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with the Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper set to make a decision on his future by the end of the week, reports talkSPORT.
The Germany international has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent months, with suggestions that he'll leave the Bundesliga after attracting a growing list of European admirers.
Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino has been credited with an interest in bringing Ter Stegen to Camp Nou to replace long-term custodian Victor Valdes, who is set to leave La Liga when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger is also a mooted admirer of the 21-year-old stopper, and has tracked his progress for some time, most notably while current Arsenal number one Wojciech Szczesny suffered a significant dip in form at the Emirates Stadium last season.
Barca remain favourites to secure Ter Stegen's signature, who is ready to announce is transfer intentions "in the next few days".
"I did not say I knew if there had been communication with Barca," he told German newspaper Bild. "I will talk soon with [Gladbach sporting director] Max Eberl and CEO Stephan Schippers over my contract and everything else.
"There will be a decision in the next few days. All those responsible know what I am going to choose!"
