Barcelona forward Neymar is hopeful he can continue the great Brazilian tradition at the Camp Nou and match, or even surpass, the achievements of Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Romario.
The 21-year-old was a €60 million acquisition from Santos during the summer transfer window and has been able to demonstrate precisely why Barcelona were willing to invest such a sizeable fee.
Neymar arrived in Barcelona to much fanfare and was acutely aware of the level of expectation placed upon his still young shoulders. Pressure came with the price tag and so too due to those who had played before him.
Barcelona have housed a number of Brazilians at the peak of their powers over the years, with Ronaldinho most recently establishing himself as the finest player in the world during his time with the club.
Neymar is the latest Brazilian superstar presented with an opportunity to become a legend in Catalonia, and the youngster would 'love' to emulate the success of those before him.
"Ronaldinho made history at Barca, what he did on the pitch was phenomenal," Neymar told reporters.
"Ronaldo chose his own way and Romario and Rivaldo were both different types of players – they all had their own style and I have mine too.
"I’d just love to achieve the greatness they did."
