As farewells go, few could possibly be as perfect as Drogba's departure from Chelsea.

In his final game in the blue shirt, the Ivorian frontman effectively secured the Champions League trophy - a crown famously craved by Russian owner Roman Abramovich - with the winning penalty against Bayern Munich in 2012.

Since Drogba, who initially joined Chelsea from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in 2004, opted to move on to pastures new, the Premier League title hopefuls have dearly lacked the hearty and delectable combination of pace, power and finesse that Drogba can so effortlessly provide.
