LA Dodgers face competition for David Price
David Price is wanted by as many as seven teams as interest in the left-armer hots up
Left arm pitcher David Price is attracting the attention of seven different MLB franchises, according to CMSSports.com
It was widely expected that the Tampa Bay Rays would enter the trade market with Price and now teams are beginning to take an interest.
Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Seattle Mariners and the LA Angels are joined by the the Pirates, the Rangers, the Diamondbacks and the Bluejays.
It is believed that no team is the clear frontrunner in the deal but the Mariners are thought to be in the strongest position to acquire Price.
Their young and talented roster is likely to be the most attractive to the Rays.
Price had an impressive 2013 in which he achieved stats to the figure of a 3.33 ERA (114 ERA+) and a 1.10 WHIP in 186 2/3 innings.
After a delay to the start of his season with a tricep injury, Price recovered well to post a higher ERA than his career norm of 3.19.
With another strong season predicted for 2014, Price is expected to fetch a hefty return for the Rays.
