Liverpool defender Daniel Agger remains on the Barcelona transfer shortlist, according to reports.
Le 10 Sport claims the Spanish giants are keen on the Danish international, whilst Mats Hummels and Alvarez Balanta are also on the club’s transfer shortlist. They were linked with a £15m bid for Agger in the summer.
David Luiz has been heavily linked with a move to the Nou Camp, but reports in Spain claim Jose Mourinho is going to block the Brazilian’s exit in the New Year.
That leaves Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino looking elsewhere to strengthen at the back, with Agger a potential acquisition for the La Liga leaders.
The Dane has been struggling for first team opportunities at Liverpool this season, after manager Brendan Rodgers brought Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho to Anfield.
Rodgers has mixed a 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 formation on occasion in the Premier League, but it’s regularly seen the 28-year-old left on the Reds’ bench.
He did start in Liverpool’s 5-1 win last night though, and will be hoping to play a more regular part on Merseyside over the festive period.
