FIFA 14 is the undisputed king of the footballing games market. Providing fans across the globe with a virtual platform to live out their every hope and dream, it is an annual must-have purchase for so many.

This year's keenly-anticipated instalment of the game was first released back in September, with the ultra-realistic next generation version hitting the shelves to high acclaim in November. 

This week, EA Sports - who develop and publish the FIFA franchise - released a series of intriguing stats relating to how fans are playing the game.

For example, a staggering 991,000 goals are scored every 90 minutes, with 3.66 million shots and 1.9 million saves also taken and made during that same timeframe.

Another stat we thought was particularly interesting here at GMS towers was the list of the top 10 transferred players.
