Drake has joined the Michael Jordan 'family' after the hip hop superstar revealed that he has teamed-up with the NBA legend's Nike brand to design and release a new range of sneakers.
The announcement was made by Drake during a concert in Portland, home of the Nike headquarters, earlier this week, while he later posted a picture of the footwear on his official Instagram page.
Drake said, as reported by TMZ: "Today I came to Portland, and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family."
The Canadian rapper's Air Jordans appear with OVO, the name of his label, on the sole and, as the picture shows, are available in white and black versions. What is not clear, however, is when the trainers will hit the market.
Air Jordan has been in existence since 1984, when Jordan was still a rookie, and the first set of sneakers became available for public consumption the following year.
There have been 28 versions of the Air Jordan's since they were first release, while there is also a range of sportswear available under the same name.
It's logo is arguably the most recognisable of all athlete brands.
