New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been sentenced to an additional 30 days in jail after violating his probation, according to CBS Sports.

The 24-year-old was due to serve 30 days in Jail from March 1 2014 after he was convicted of assaulting a police officer in Nebraska back in February of this year.

However, in July he was arrested on suspicion of a DUI - and, after admitting to a parole violation, he was subsequently handed an additional 30-day sentence, plus another year of probation, an additional 100 hours of community service, and an added no-alcohol condition.

Dennard's increased 60-day sentence will start on March 1 2014, although it's reported that he could be freed after 35 days on good behaviour.

However, Lancaster County district court judge Stephanie Stacy issued a firm warning to Dennard as he left the courtroom.

"I want you to know this is your latest chance," he was told, according to a Lincoln-based reporter.
