Arsenal to be offered £22m Real Madrid striker in January

Arsenal are set be offered Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema in January, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

Reports claim that bosses at the Bernabeu are so desperate to land Liverpool star Luis Suarez, that they are willing to actively look to sell Benzema in the coming transfer window in order to raise funds.

The French striker has come under criticism this term for his wasteful form in front of goal, and Ancelotti is thought to be in the market for a new forward come the New Year, with Radamel Falcao and Luis Suarez his primary targets.

It's good news for Arsenal, who have been tracking Benzema for some time, and were linked with a move for the 25-year-old in the summer.

Arsene Wenger needs a striker to partner up with Olivier Giroud and would surely jump at the chance to sign the Los Blancos star if he was given the opportunity.

Benzema is thought be valued at around £22million by Madrid, but that cost could fluctuate depending on how much Brendan Rodgers is willing to allow Suarez to depart for.
