Arsenal and Manchester United have been put on red alert after it emerged that Barcelona are willing to sell Alex Song for as little as £10million.

The Daily Star has revealed that the former Gunners midfielder, who has struggled greatly in Spain, is likely to make a switch in January and could very well be headed back to the Premier League.

Both United and Arsenal have been following his situation at the Nou Camp with increasing interest and, according to the Star, sources in Spain are claiming that the Cameroon star is to be sold for £10million.

Song has found it difficult to force his way into a Barcelona midfield that includes Cesc Fabregas, Xavi and Andres Iniesta since his £15million move from the Emirates in the summer of 2012.

Under new boss Gerardo Martino he has only featured seven times in La Liga, and is said to have become frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities.

It's believed that the news of his possible sale will now spark a race for his signature from Premier League champions United and his old club Arsenal.
