The eight best players to never win the Champions League (9)

Before the arrival of a certain Portuguese superstar, Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima was the original Ronaldo.

Electric pace and freakishly accurate shooting made the Brazilian striker simply unstoppable as he picked up the Ballon d’Or in 1997 and 2002.

Ronaldo has been heavily involved in Brazil’s 2014 World Cup preparations having won the tournament in 1994 and 2002 and being the all-time leading goalscorer having notched up 15 goals during his four World Cup campaigns.

Despite playing for four of Europe’s biggest teams - Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan, the Brazilian striker never made it to a Champions League final, but did pick up a UEFA Cup winners medal with Inter Milan.

Part of the original galacticos at Real Madrid, Ronaldo's natural ability would have enabled him to walk into any team in the world.
