Kyle Korver is the toast of the National Basketball Association after breaking the record for consecutive three-points games.

The Atlanta Hawks star made it 90 matches in a row with a maximum against the Cleveland Cavaliers, as his side secured a 108-89 victory and moved to 12-11 in the Southeast Division.

Korver moved ahead of Dana Barros when he made the shot, whose previous record of 89 ended back in January 1996.

The achievement was instantly recognised by the biggest name in basketball today, LeBron James, who was quick to heap praise on the shooting guard.

“Congrats to Kyle Kolver on breaking Dana Barros consecutive game with a 3! 90 straight games. That's a cannon! #Congrats #TriggerFinger,” wrote the Miami Heat superstar on Twitter, according to a press release sent to GiveMeSport.

Korver and his teammates are bound for London this season, with the Hawks set to take on the Brooklyn Nets at the O2 Arena on January 14th.

And, if the streak is still alive when the 32-year-old arrives in the English capital, he will have extended the record to an incredible 107 consecutive games with a three-pointer - presuming he features in all of their matches.
