Manchester United are prepared to spend £30m on Basel stars Mohamed Salah and Fabian Schar, according to the Daily Star.
The two players, who have impressed in this season's Champions League campaign, have long been on the radar of several Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal.
However, Manchester United manager David Moyes is determined to strengthen his team after a dreadful start to the 2013/14 season, and is keen to do a deal with Basel for forward Salah and central defender Schar.
It's believed that a £30m offer would be enough to convince the Swiss champions to consider selling two of their key players.
Salah is a 21-year-old Egypt international, who has scored 17 goals in 26 appearances for his national team.
After helping Basel beat Chelsea in this season's Champions League group stages, Salah admitted that he dreams of playing for a Premier League club.
"I'm very proud to have scored two goals against Chelsea," Salah was quoted as saying in The Sun last month. "I want to play for one of the best teams in the world.
"My favourites are Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea."
Schar, meanwhile, is also 21 years old - and has scored three goals in five appearances for the Switzerland national team.
