Manchester United boss David Moyes could be without five first-team players for his side's Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Daily Telegraph reports Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic, Marouane Fellaini, Patrice Evra and Chris Smalling all missed training this morning.
Manchester United midfielder Carrick has missed the Premier League champions' last five games with an Achilles injury.
Red Devils captain Vidic and first choice left-back Evra both played the full 90 minutes against Newcastle on Saturday, so could be rested for Manchester United's Champions League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Fellaini, who sat out Manchester United's defeat at Old Trafford with a bruised back, and Smalling, who was ruled out with a tight hamstring, also missed training.
News of the aforementioned players' injuries will come as a bitter blow to Moyes, whose side need to avoid defeat if they want to progress to the last 16 as winners of Group A.
