The New England Patriots are on yet another run this season, having seen off the Cleveland Browns 27-26 at the Gillette Stadium to all but clinch the AFC East title.
With Tom Brady in fine form and the rest of the team putting in some fantastic performances too, it looks as though the Patriots might just go all the way this season and get their hands back on the Super Bowl trophy.
The illustrious offense, which was second to none last season, has once again produced the goods and has ensured that the Foxborough team are never on the receiving end of a shutout.
Throughout the past 14 weeks we have seen the likes of the Denver Broncos, the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks produce brilliant displays an that is why they find themselves where they are.
There has even been a few surprise packages such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and these are the kind of teams (if not the actual teams) the Patriots will be facing in the playoffs. As always it is a step up from regular season play and when faced with opponents such as the Broncos, it will take something special to beat them.
So can the Pats keep up their form with only three weeks of the regular season to go? No one but the players themselves will be able to tell you that, but we must remember that quite a few of the victories this season have been very narrow indeed, such as the most recent win at the expense of the unfortunate Browns who missed a last-minute field goal to win the game.
If this trend of winning games by one or two points continues then it won't be long until the luck runs out and they find themselves losing.
However, if there is one thing that the Patriots have this season it is spirit. The hunger and the desire to win is there and they will do whatever it take to reach the Super Bowl.
Maybe it is due to recent playoff agonies or maybe it is just the legendary Patriots tenacity, but whatever the reason it is clear that the men in the historic red, white and blue have the belief and the ability that all Super Bowl champions need if they are to ever obtain the trophy and a ring.
