Chelsea are set to recall left-back Ashley Cole for their clash with Steaua Bucharest tomorrow, reports The Sun.

The England international lost his place in the Blues side after a disappointing defeat to Newcastle on November 2 and has yet to regain a spot in Jose Mourinho's side.

The Portuguese tactician has instead opted for Cesar Azpilicueta in recent weeks, with Cole having not played since the defeat at St James Park.

However, the 32-year-old now looks set for a return to first team action in Chelsea's Champions League clash with the Romanian outfit at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues still need to pick up a victory tomorrow night in order to gain top spot in Group E and Mourinho's side will be desperate to bounce back after a disappointing defeat in the Premier League this past weekend.

Chelsea were beaten 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday and will now be hoping to make amends in Europe's elite competition tomorrow evening.

Chelsea fans will be hoping that the return of Cole can inspire them to three points tomorrow.
