Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has refused to accept that he is coming to the end of his career – tweeting a defiant picture, along with the caption: "7 FA Cups, 3 league titles, an undefeated season. I’m still not done."
The England international, who turns 33 next week, has not featured for the Blues since the 2-0 defeat away at Newcastle United on November 2.
Cole has since lost his first-team place to Cesar Azpilicueta, with Jose Mourinho preferring to deploy the right-footed Spaniard in the left-back spot.
However, Cole has responded to his manager's reluctance to pick him by tweeting a Nike-made image of himself alongside the words "Who you calling done?"
In his next tweet, Cole wrote: "Thank you @NikeUK for the love and support".
But it's not only at club level where the Chelsea star faces fierce competition for his position.
Everton left-back Leighton Baines is a strong contender to start for England at next summer's World Cup finals in Brazil – and, indeed, this is likely to be the case if Cole continues to spend time on the Blues' bench.
