Hellas Verona won't let playmaker Jorginho leave the club in January, reports talkSPORT.
A number of Premier League clubs had been linked with a move for the Brazilian, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all monitoring the player's situation.
The 21-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Serie A outfit this season having scored seven goals in 15 appearances in Italy's elite division.
It had previously been reported that Liverpool were close to signing the midfielder last summer and with their current injury problems in the midfield area, it had been expected that Brendan Rodgers would make a move for the star in January.
However, with Chelsea and Arsenal also interested, and Verona not looking to sell, Liverpool may struggle bringing the midfielder to Anfield.
But, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal could all come back in for the £10 million rated star in the summer as the Italian outfit will then listen to offers.
Like Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are also looking to strengthen their midfield options and could all battle for the star at a later date.
