New York Rangers star Ryan Callahan will be out of action for 4-6 weeks after suffering a knee sprain, reports cbssports.
In the Rangers' latest defeat, against the Nashville Predators at Madison Square Garden, Callahan limped off after a clash with Vic Bartley.
And now it has been announced that he will be on the sidelines for the next 4-6 weeks, which will act as a major blow for the Rangers.
It has been revealed that Callahan's suffered with a Grade 2 knee sprain meaning the Rangers will have to try and return to winning ways without their captain.
The Rangers have been in dreadful form of late having been beaten in their last three matches.
Their first game without Callahan will be against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday. The Blue Jackets will be hoping to continue their good run after securing victory in three of their last four matches.
