Ferrari have confirmed their driver line-up of Jules Bianchi and Pedro de la Rosa for the 2014 Pirelli tyre test in Bahrain for next week, whilst McLaren and Force India have pulled out of the test.
According to Sky Sports, the Italian manufactures will use their 2013 car for the test and should be joined in Sakhir by Red Bull, Mercedes and Torro Rosso. None of the other teams are yet to confirm their driver line-up for the test.
De la Rosa is Ferrari's development driver and the team state it is important to continue the work which began with the Spaniard in 2013.
Bianchi drove for Ferrari in the 2012 Young Driver Test but the Maranello decided to re-sign Kimi Raikkonen to replace Felipe Massa for next season instead of the promising French driver.
The team still see Bianchi in their long-term plans and want to give the driver the opportunity to demonstrate his progress in 2013.
The test, set up by Pirelli, will give them extra time to work on their 2014 tyres after the problems throughout last season with severe tyre degradation.
