John Cena and Randy Orton are set to headline the upcoming Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view, with both the World Heavyweight Championship and WWE title on the line in the main event.
Although we have witnessed these two in action more times than we can care for, not helped by the fact that fans brand their matches as a ‘bore-fest’, the stipulation and the fact that only one of the men will walk out as champion makes it just that little but more interesting.
The remainder of the card leaves something to be desired. The WWE's undercard support must really pull out all the stops in the matches to make TLC a memorable pay-per-view.
Now, unless the WWE make a sudden drastic late change the current card looks set to be the official match card, which takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Obviously, this article contains spoilers, if you haven’t watched Raw or SmackDown this week and wish to avoid spoilers, please turn back now.
Pre-show match – Fandango vs. Dolph Ziggler
A match you can watch for free on YouTube, Facebook and wwe.com. Why Dolph Ziggler continues to be punished like this I will never know.
Regardless, for a pre-show this should be a good match, both men are great in the ring and with Ziggler’s ability to really sell a move, the match should go down well with the fans and set the tone for the remainder of the night.
Ziggler should win this match, offering a silver lining to a situation most fans are not happy about, if that makes sense.
Prediction = Dolph Ziggler
Fatal 4 Way Tag Team Championship – Cody Rhodes and Goldust© vs. The Real Americans vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. The Big Show and Rey Mysterio
A match which has had minimal coverage. Yes Cody Rhodes and Goldust have been doing great things since capturing the gold but a handful of teams deserve to be in this match.
The Prime Time Players and The Usos are both prime examples of teams shunned. I just feel Ryback and Curtis Axel definitely do not belong in this match and neither do The Big Show and Rey Mysterio, but I guess they have to be booked somewhere.
You can rule out Curtis Axel and Ryback, stale on the microphone, not the best of personalities and Paul Heyman is not around, not the best way to keep the tag team division interesting.
Rule out The Big Show and Rey Mysterio, with the latter just returning from injury and his workload will not be as high so soon.
I personally want The Real Americans to become the new champions but I think it is clear Goldust and Rhodes will retain the gold. With speculation that Goldust is set to turn on his brother at the Royal Rumble to create a match at WrestleMania, I think it’s safe to say the brothers will hold the titles for a little while longer.
Prediction = STILL Champions; Goldust and Cody Rhodes
Divas Championship – AJ Lee © vs. Natalya
Nobody in the entire WWE locker room deserves to be Divas Champion more than AJ Lee, she plays her character extremely well, and has earned her prominent spot.
At least this time around AJ has a talented diva facing her in Natalya, and both divas have the ability to put on a good divas match.
AJ Lee should win, there is no doubt about that and I think 99% of WWE fans would agree, but with the WWE ‘creative’ team not making the best of decisions, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Natalya win just for the sake of having a Champion for their reality series, Total Divas.
Prediction = STILL Divas Champion; AJ Lee
Intercontinental Championship – Big E Langston © vs. Damien Sandow
It isn’t easy being a Damien Sandow fan, one day you hope he will cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and become the next World Heavyweight Champion, the next you brace yourself for him to get dismantled by Big E Langston in an Intercontinental Championship match.
I am ready for a loss, Big E Langston is the future, there is no denying his talent and as a neutral fan.
Langston should walk out as Champion and actually hold that championship for a very long time, any other result would be disappointing.
Prediction = STILL Intercontinental Champion; Big E Langston
CM Punk vs. The Shield
CM Punk taking on all three members of The Shield, a good match on paper, but with CM Punk not being at full fitness, this match might be at a slower pace than expected. All four men have incredible amounts of talent and Punk will have the chance to really get Roman Reigns over as a monster.
As The Shield will be breaking up relatively soon, I think they will be on a good run heading into the inevitable break-up.
I can see Roman Reigns playing a key role and leading The SHIELD to a victory.
Prediction = The Shield
Daniel Bryan vs. The Wyatt Family
Another three-on-one handicap match, this time with Daniel Bryan taking on The Wyatt Family, who for weeks have asked Daniel Bryan to join the family.
Daniel Bryan and CM Punk defeated The Wyatt Family at Survivor Series, but a man of Bryan’s size burying them again would not make sense in getting the Wyatt's over as a true force.
I expect The Wyatt Family to dispose of Daniel Bryan this time round.
Prediction = The Wyatt Family
WWE and World Heavyweight Championship TLC Match: John Cena © vs. Randy Orton ©
The pay-per-view is called TLC, yet this is the only TLC match on the entire card. Again, on paper this match looks great, we can finally can have the one true undisputed champion.
This match opens up so many possibilities, Bryan vs. HHH, Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels, another Randy Orton vs. John Cena etc.
A big negative about the entire build up is that this is the only match which has had the focus and attention, which is not exactly a great thing.
I don’t think this match will end with one winner, I just feel something odd will happen, that odd situation being that both men will unhook the titles at the same time, Randy Orton will unhook the World Heavyweight Championship, and John Cena will unhook the WWE Championship, this storyline will drag out for quite some time.
Prediction = John Cena and Randy Orton both retain titles
