Matt Elam is a rookie safety for the Baltimore Ravens, and because of the fact he is a rookie he might be a bit untrained when it comes to the media.
He certainly proved that when asked about Detroit Lions' 28-year-old wide receiver Calvin "Megatron" Johnson.
Although Elam started off as complimentary and gracious when speaking to the Detroit Free Press ("Big, fast, athletic, unstoppable, freak,") his response tailed off and became a bit of an unintentional dig at the experienced receiver.
He went on to say: "He's pretty old, so I don't know how physical he'll be.
"He's a big guy, but he's older. I guess when they get older they're not going to be as physical, you know what I'm saying? We're going to have to be physical, make him uncomfortable."
Yes, Johnson does have a good six years on the rookie but in the NFL, 28-years-old is not old. Johnson is in his prime and doesn't look like slowing down any time soon.
There are sure to be a few pumped up Lions come Tuesday looking to prove that "old" doesn't apply when it comes to the Detroit lineup.
