What appeared to be a rather tame and routine television interview with former Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni earlier this week took an eventful turn after the broadcast was interrupted by two topless female protestors.
Trapattoni, the 74-year-old Italian who took charge of the Irish national team in May 2008 before taking the nation to Euro 2012 and finally leaving the job earlier this year, was answering questions on German television show Markus Lanz when the incident occurred.
About fifteen minutes in, the former AC Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich manager was evidently more than a touch surprised to see two ladies - believed to be part of the exhibitionist feminist protest group Femen - storm the stage topless with protest slogans scrawled across their bodies.
The group have staged similar protests across the continent in recent years and it is believed that this particular protest concerned the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.
Watch footage of the incident above - skipping ahead to around the 15:30 mark and being mindful to watch for Trapattoni's amused reaction - with thanks to Joe.ie.
