"You're not City anymore!" Our heartfelt condolences go out to Hull City supporters who, despite much opposition, will see their club renamed Hull Tigers from next season.

Chairman Assem Allam announced earlier this term his decision to eventually rebrand the club, but has failed to take on board the feelings of the fans and pressed ahead with the name change anyway.

Hull's example could set a worrying trend for the game's traditionalists, with Cardiff City and Everton - to varying degrees - having also recently upset their loyal support with controversial changes.

But what if owners of the Premier League's more prominent clubs followed the lead of Hull and pushed through a rebrand to increase their global appeal? GMS has picked out some suggestions for potential name changes...
