Robinson Cano has revealed that he didn't feel respect from the New York Yankees during free agency, reports cbssports.
Cano, who ended up signing for the Seattle Mariners in a deal worth €240 million, has slammed his former team after their lack of respect.
The Yankees offered him just a seven year deal, worth €175m, however that offer was nothing in comparison to his €240m, 10 year deal that he eventually signed with the Mariners.
It was reported that the Yankees were playing hard ball in negotiations and only increased their original offer by around €10m during the process.
When asked whether the Yankees wanted him back, he said: "Honestly, I'd have to say no. I didn't feel respect."
Cano was a great asset for the Yankees during his time in the team and will certainly be missed. The Yankees' loss is the Mariners gain and Cano will now be hoping to have great success with the Franchise.
