The group stage is over, and the final 16 teams left in the competition await their fate in Monday's draw.
In terms of surprises there were few, with perhaps only Olympiakos making it through and Galatasaray ousting Juventus in a dramatic re-scheduled game providing any real shocks. All in all, though, the big guns made it through.
In the meantime, then, in the barren weeks until Europe's most prestigious club competition returns, what better thing to do than throw together a list of the elite players who remain in the form of the best team in Europe.
One stipulation, though. So many of the best players in Europe are congested into just a few of the top clubs, so to make things more interesting here, only one player can be selected from each of the sixteen teams still in the competition.
