Three men were stabbed outside the Sports Authority Field after the Denver Broncos game last night and one of them remains in a critical condition.
According to ESPN, the police were called at 9:55pm and officers responded to a large fight at Lot F in a car park next to the stadium.
Police spokesman Steve Warneke explained the situation was “very chaotic” and the reason for the fight is unknown.
The Denver Post reported there were multiple eyewitnesses who have give their accounts to the police.
Police also think a fourth person may have been stabbed but walked away from the scene.
The Stadium’s management company said in a statement: “It is aware of an incident that occurred in a parking lot adjacent to Sports Authority Field at Mile High.”
The company also confirmed they are working with the police during the investigation.
Earlier, Denver lost 27-20 to the San Diego Chargers.
The stabbing on Thursday follows a recent increase in violent incidents involving American football fans.
ESPN reported, a man died after an incident at the Arrowhead Stadium car park in Kansas City during a game against Denver.
In September a teenage fan suffered a concussion and a broken arm and nose at Candlestick Park in San Francisco after he was attacked during the 49ers' game against Indianapolis.
