John Terry is set to be offered a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge after a string of impressive performances.
The Chelsea captain has rolled back the years this season, showing signs of his aggressive, dominant defensive capabilities.
Reports in the Mirror suggest that former England captain Terry will be offered the deal before the end of the current campaign.
Blues legend Terry struggled last term and was in and out of the side, however, the return of Jose Mourinho appears to have reinvigorated the centre back.
Chelsea currently have a policy of 12-month contract offers to those over 30 and it is thought the same will apply to Terry.
Terry recently turned 33, but despite his age the defender has been part of every side Mourinho has used in the Premier League this season.
Chelsea skipper Terry will be relieved he doesn't have to follow the drawn out saga that loomed over Lampard's negotiations, and it is thought Mourinho may look to extend the contract of Chelsea's top scorer as well.
A win would see them leapfrog Arsene Wenger's side, although the Gunners will be looking to get back to winning ways.
