Liverpool are interested in signing youngster Jorginho in the January transfer window, according to the Metro.

The midfielder has caught the eye of Chelsea, Arsenal and Fiorentina after helping Verona up to sixth in Serie A. The 21-year-old has scored seven goals from 15 starts so far this season.

Last season the starlet was part of the Verona side which gained promotion from Serie B and has carried on his fine form through to this season.

Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield after Steven Gerrard was declared out injured for at least a month, whilst Daniel Sturridge will not be fit until the new year.

The 21-year-old was born in Imbituba, Brazil, but has represented Italy’s Under-21 side.

Verona are adamant their young talent will stay at the North Italians but if the right offer comes in it will be hard for the Italians to refuse.
