Fulham will look to bring back fan favourite Clint Dempsey on loan in January whilst Bryan Ruiz is set to leave Craven Cottage for Belgium side Anderlecht, according to The Independent.
Dempsey currently plays for MLS side Seattle Sounders, who are in their two-month off-season, and has been linked with a loan spell to help his old club avoid relegation.
The American forward would be available for a two month loan in January and February before heading back to Seattle for their season opener against Sporting Kansas City on 8th March.
MLS loan deals to England have proved successful in the past. Landon Donavan had positive spells with Everton in 2010 and 2012 during LA Galaxy's off-season.
Dempsey spent five years at Craven Cottage, scoring 60 goals and was part of the side that made the Europa league final in 2010.
Stoke City and West Ham are also reported to be interested in gaining the American's services.
But the west London side hope Dempsey will choose to return to his former team to provide goals for Rene Muelensteen as they bid to avoid relegation.
The Cottagers sit second-bottom with just 13 points from 16 games and an average of under a goal a game.
The USA captain has proven Premier League credentials, after successful spells at Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, and would be an ideal replacement for Bryan Ruiz who is looking for a way out of Fulham.
The Costa Rican became the Cottagers' record signing in 2011 when Fulham paid £10.6 million to FC Twente for the striker.
But Ruiz has failed to impress for Fulham after managing only eight goals in 74 appearances.
Anderlecht's sporting director Herman Van Holsbeeck is reported to be meeting in London to begin negotiations for a January move for Ruiz. It is believed the Belgium club would prefer a loan move with a permanent switch available in the summer.
