England have had Ashley Cole as their first-choice left-back since he made his debut all the way back in 2001.
Cole has been a very loyal and a good servant to the England side whenever he has played. He has 106 caps for the Three Lions and was voted England's best player in 2010 following a disappointing World Cup campaign.
The Chelsea star has always been the first-choice left-back and has never seen a challenger to his place. But Leighton Baines' stock has risen in the last three seasons and starting to give Cole a run for his money and is starting to overtake the 32-year-old in Roy Hodgson's eyes.
Now as Cole gets older, Baines is starting to push Cole harder and harder for the left-back spot and now a large percentage of people believe Baines will get the starting role ahead of Cole for the Brazil World Cup.
As Cole has also gotten older he has also had newer competition added to face him such as Arsenal star Kieran Gibbs and the young, but already experienced Luke Shaw, who does have an outside chance of getting on the plane to Brazil this summer.
But anyway, once again I have picked just two players for the fullback positions as England do not need their team congested with loads of players for just one position.
Unfortunately, a couple good players will be missing out on the opportunity to play in this World Cup, but hey that's the way it is when it comes to these major tournaments.
