Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed there have been no bids for Manchester United transfer target Angel Di Maria.

The 25-year-old winger has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu ever since the club signed Gareth Bale in a record-breaking deal over the summer.

Manchester United and Monaco have been mentioned as possible destinations for the Argentine star, but Perez has quashed speculation linking him with an exit.

"He has a contract in place until 2018 and many clubs want him," Perez said as reported by

"We have not received any offer for the sale of Angel Di Maria. This is the truth of the subject. These are things that do not happen but are written about.

"Nobody has told me anything about this situation. I have asked the club if someone has approached us and nobody knows anything."

The Argentina international signed for Madrid from Benfica in 2010, and despite playing a key role in the club's recent success, he's been phased out since the arrival of Bale from Spurs.

United boss David Moyes is expected to be active in the January market, with the club in need of creative attackers to spearhead a push towards the Champions League qualification places.

Moyes has been linked with several central midfielders, but United wingers Nani and Ashley Young have come in for criticism this season potentially opening the door to a United move for reinforcements out wide as well.
