With Manchester United lacking that creative spark from the centre of midfield, many names are being bounded around in terms of a January signing for David Moyes.  Everton Ribiero is one named heavily linked with United, as well as summer target Ander Herrara.  But Moyes could find the answer to this particular problem much closer to home.

With the re-appointment of Jose Mourinho at Chelsea this summer, Spanish International Juan Mata has struggled to gain a first team place under the Portuguese boss.  Often found sat on the bench this season, Mata now finds his place in the national side under threat due to his lack of playing time.

Given the season he had in the previous campaign for the Blues, it is almost impossible to understand why Mourinho continues to leave him out.  There are many talented players at the Bridge, but Mata has proven his worth in the Chelsea midfield since his arrival, and now finds himself in limbo.

Given his current situation at Chelsea, a January move away could be what it takes to save his World Cup dream, and David Moyes should pounce on this.

It has been no secret that United are lacking that creative spark in midfield.  The signing of Fellaini has failed to bring what Moyes would have hoped for, and the Belgian has looked lost and out of place during many of his games so far.

With United dwindling down in 8th place in the Premier League, Moyes needs to act in order to catch the leading pack.

Given the uncertainty under Mourinho, Mata could be the ideal solution for Moyes and Manchester United when the window re-opens in the New Year.  The Chelsea chief stated in the summer he did not wish to sell the Spaniard, but has failed to use him significantly.

But given the past between the teams, and the summer transfer saga involving Wayne Rooney, United could find it very difficult should they attempt a move for the prolific midfield man in January.
