Manchester United are said to be preparing a shock swoop Ajax centre-back Stefano Denswil in the January transfer window.

The Metro reports that David Moyes has identified the Dutch youngster as an ideal addition to his squad and could move for his next month, with Denswil having rejected his club's attempts at offering him a new contract.

The starlet, considered to be one of the rising talents in Dutch football, has been negotiating with Ajax for the last month, but talks have reportedly stalled due to his wage demands.

It's believed that his club are determined to keep hold of him but may be open to listen to offers if the parties are unable to come to some sort of agreement.

Sources imply that Moyes has been tracking the 20-year-old for a while, and has been getting regular scout reports on his status and performances.

With the United boss keen on the player's power and pace in particular, it's thought that he will lodge a £5million bid in the winter transfer window but could loan Denswil back to Ajax for the remainder of the season.
